Commitment to Safe and Respectful Group Chats

Welcome to The Breath of Life Foundation's Men's Group WhatsApp Chat. We aim to create safe spaces, and our group chats should be no different. While we cannot guarantee this as they are not monitored 24/7 we have created guidelines for members to follow. After all, we're all here to support each other and promote mental wellness. To ensure our chat remains a safe and supportive space for everyone, please follow these guidelines:

Respect and Empathy

  • Respect Everyone: Treat all members with respect and kindness. Understand that everyone has different experiences and perspectives.
  • Listen Actively: Show empathy and listen to others without judgment or interruption.

Confidentiality

  • Maintain Privacy: What is shared in the group stays in the group. Do not share personal information or conversations outside the chat.

Support & Positivity

  • Be Supportive: Offer support and encouragement. Avoid making negative or dismissive comments.
  • Stay Positive: Focus on positive and constructive discussions. Share uplifting and motivational content when appropriate.

No Judgement

  • Non-Judgmental Space: This is a safe space for everyone to share their thoughts and feelings without fear of judgment or criticism.
  • Avoid Assumptions: Do not make assumptions about others' experiences or feelings.

No Irrelevant Content

  • Stay On Topic: Avoid posting spam, promotional content, or irrelevant messages.
  • No Offensive Content: Do not share offensive, explicit, or inappropriate content.

Report Concerns

  • Speak Up: If you notice any behavior that violates these guidelines or makes you uncomfortable, report it to the group admin immediately.
  • Safety First: If you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact emergency services.

Voluntary Participation

  • Join When Ready: Participation in discussions is voluntary. Feel free to join in when you are comfortable and take breaks when needed.

Bullying and Inclusivity

  • Zero Tolerance for Bullying: Any form of bullying, harassment, or discrimination will not be tolerated. This includes, but is not limited to, offensive language, personal attacks, and exclusionary behavior.
  • Inclusivity: Embrace diversity and be inclusive of everyone. Celebrate differences and ensure that all voices are heard and valued.

Admin Rights

  • Admin Oversight: Group admins have the right to remove any content or member that violates these guidelines to maintain a safe and supportive environment.
  • Updates to Guidelines: These guidelines may be updated as needed. Members will be informed of any changes.

Here are some self-care tips for using WhatsApp chat:

  • Set Boundaries: Decide specific times to check messages and stick to them.
  • Mute Notifications: Turn off notifications for group chats that aren’t urgent.
  • Take Breaks: Step away from your phone to recharge and avoid burnout.
  • Manage Stress: Avoid reading or responding to messages when feeling overwhelmed.
  • Respect Personal Time: Let others know your availability and respond when convenient.
  • Stay Positive: Focus on uplifting conversations and mute or leave negative ones.
